A programme of art, culture and new infrastructure to reimagine the future of the UK’s biggest council housing estate
Be First is looking for 15 residents from the Becontree estate who best represent our community's culture, diversity and vibrancy to join the Becontree Design Forum to help shape the future of Becontree Estate.
The Becontree Design Forum will be a community group made up of 15 local residents from across the Becontree Estate who want to get involved in the co-design of Becontree future homes, local spaces and active neighbourhoods starting this November through to March next year.
A Becontree Design Code will be co-produced with the Becontree Design Forum and act as a guide for those wanting to change and adapt their homes, simplifying the planning process and enhancing the estate.
Be First will run a series of workshops with the Becontree Design Forum to co-design and prototype an energy-efficient Becontree home, which will then be opened to the wider community to come and see what a future Becontree home could look like.
They aim to run the first session with the group on the 3rd week of November.
